Node Listings with Thumbnails using Drupal 5.1, CCK and ImageCache

I needed to apply the concepts outlined at http://drupal.org/node/101748 to create a listing of node teasers that contained thumbnail images. That article was written for 4.7 and was useful, but not completely helpful for Drupal 5.1 which I am running. Here's a way to create a teaser list with thumbnails ... keep in mind I am also not a Drupal expert, but a Drupal learner. This is just what worked for me.

Heres a step by step tutorial on how to install Drupal 5.1 tailored for a standard LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) setup. The servers I use for hosting have cPanel so these instructions are written to use it.

I had the unfortunate need to pick up a new laptop because my other one took a dive. I needed it to perform business functions and could not find a store that sold a Linux or XP based machine for a reasonable price. I have been attempting to set up a standard php, mySQL, Apache configuration with phpMyAdmin and Eclipse installed. I have been fighting with this operating system for over 14 consecutive hours at this point and completely hate the experience I have gone through. My last hurdle before I went to sleep was getting phpMyAdmin working correctly.

Drupal has a way of making an otherwise intelligent person feel like a complete bumbling idiot. The CSS functions in Drupal 5 are no exception. I became excited when I read the notes on Ted Serbinski's Blog relating to theming in Drupal 5 and the related information contained at Converting 4.7x themes to 5.x .
